The Main Law of South Land of Gary

“By the Grace and Mercy of God, we announce The Main Law of South Land of Gary that will guide, lead and govern our nation. In order to serve, love and protect our homeland.”

1 General Provision
1.1 South Land of Gary is a subject of a Baltic Principality with a special status Province Duchy of South Land of Gary.
1.2 The Main Law of South Land of Gary is governed by the “Baltic Charter on Self-Government” and the “Statute on South Land of Gary”. Other laws of Baltiya that contradict any part of this Law should only be fulfilled if the Supreme Court of Baltiya will decide so.
1.3 South Land of Gary has a right to create other laws and acts that will not contradict part 1.2 of this Law.
1.4 This Law is to be fulfilled by all people who are located on South Land of Gary territories.
1.5 South Land of Gary is a Christian state. The precise definition of “a Christian state” is given by a separate law.
1.6 Official language of South Land of Gary is English Language, but Russian Language is commonly used.
1.7 All official documents must be published in English Language.
1.8 The time-zone for South Land of Gary is 0 GMT

2 The Duke of South Land of Gary
2.1 South Land of Gary is governed by The Duke of South Land of Gary.
2.2 The way in which The Duke of South Land of Gary has to be officially addressed is described by the separate law.
2.3 The Duke of South Land of Gary must serve and protect the nation of South Land of Gary.
2.4 The Duke of South Land of Gary must supervise the fulfilment of this Law on the South Land of Gary territories.
2.5 The way of succession of the throne of South Land of Gary is described by the separate law of succession.
2.6 Additional responsibilities of The Duke South Land of Gary are described by the separate law of responsibilities.
2.7 The Duke of South Land of Gary must profess Christianity as a religion.
2.8 We believe that according to the Holy Scriptures all principalities and powers are from God.

3 The Governance of South Land of Gary
3.1 South Land of Gary is governed for the benefit of the nation by The Duke of South Land of Gary.
3.2 If The Duke of South Land of Gary wishes, he may choose people out of the nation of South Land of Gary, who will become Lords, in order to assist him in governing nation.
3.3 The responsibilities of the Lords are described by the separate law of responsibilities.

4 Main freedoms, rights and responsibilities
4.1 Everyone who is willing and meets the expectations has a right to become a South Land of Gary national.
4.2 The procedure and expectations are described by the separate law.
4.3 Every South Land of Gary national has right to live. Therefore murder or abortion is a violation of this Law. Medical euthanasia is not a violation of this Law, but is covered by a separate law on euthanasia.
4.4 South Land of Gary accepts United Nation declaration of Human Rights, unless it goes against this Law.
4.4 Everyone is equal in the eyes of The Law.
4.5 Incitement of national, racial religious, political or social hatred, violence and discrimination is prohibited and punished by law. Punishment is described by the separate law.
4.6 Every South Land of Gary national has a right to be protected by this Law and The Duke of South Land of Gary.
4.7 Rights and freedoms can be limited by this Law for the benefit and prosperity of our nation.
4.8 Any legal act that is issued in South Land of Gary and is contradictory to this Law should not be fulfilled.

5 About the Justice in South Land of Gary
5.1 South Land of Gary nationals are subjects to the Judicial system of Baltic Principality
5.2 All issues that arise on the national level of Baltiya, have to be addressed to the courts of Baltiya.
5.3 Although “Statute on South Land of Gary” states that South Land of Gary surrenders the Judicial system to Baltiya, according to the “Baltic Charter on Self-Government” South Land of Gary has a right to possess their own Court in order to control the fulfilment of the laws and acts of South Land of Gary.
5.4 All people who commit crimes on the territories of South Land of Gary, against the laws and acts of South Land of Gary, will be subject to the Court of South Land of Gary.
5.5 Full responsibilities of the Court of South Land of Gary are described by the separate law of responsibilities of the Court.

6 Changes to this Law
6.1 Changes to this Law can only be applied if the nation of South Land of Gary will, Lords propose or Supreme Court of Baltiya Commands.
6.2 In order that this Law would be changed by the will of the people of South Land of Gary majority of two-thirds of the population of South Land of Gary have to will and two-thirds of Lords have to will.
6.3 In order that this Law would be changed by the proposition of the Lords, two-thirds of Lords have to will. But if The Duke of South Land of Gary opposes the proposition, the change is invalid and Lords will have to make change to the proposition or surrender the idea of the proposition.
6.4 In order that this Law would be changed by the Command of Supreme Court of Baltiya, there has to be a valid order from the Supreme Court.
6.5 Unless the change is commanded by the Supreme Court of Baltiya, change to this Law can only be done once in a year since the last change, if there are no changes then at any time.
6.6 Exclusion to part 6.5 of this Law. If there is an error in grammar or spelling in this Law, it could be changed by The Duke of South Land of Gary, without the vote of the nation or Lords, providing The Duke of South Land of Gary informs about it.
